How much more you see when you slow down!!
I was out for a walk the other night at Belly River Campground in Waterton Lakes National Park.
Because of my lung condition, I have to walk slowly — and on this hot, humid evening, it was no different. As I paused to catch my breath, I heard a soft rustling in the tree beside me. It was subtle, like a light breeze through the leaves, but definitely something more.
I stood quietly for a moment, listening.
Then, right in front of my face, this little guy appeared. He’d clearly been watching me and must’ve decided I wasn’t a threat. Maybe the wheezing gave me away — he probably figured he could outrun me without much effort! 😊
He went back to feeding, completely relaxed, and I was able to capture a whole series of photos. The only thing that made me stop shooting was the sudden swarm of mosquitoes — and the realization that I’d left the bug spray back in the van.

So the next time you are out taking pictures, don’t be in a rush.
Slow down and see all the things that you would miss if you were rushing past.
