Rough life being an Alberta nature photographer.
Navigating the challenges of being an Alberta nature photographer is no walk in the park. Before I turned 16, the idea of becoming one wasn’t even on my radar.

But soon after, what started as a simple hobby turned into a passion. I always had a love for nature photography, whether I was checking out galleries or flipping through magazines. However, it wasn’t until I spent quality time outdoors that the thought of being a photographer crossed my mind.
Before 16, my experience with nature was pretty typical—just a landscape to pass through on the way to somewhere else. But as I reached that age, nature transformed into a destination itself, a place to connect with and live in.

Live in nature – Alberta Nature Photographer
The move to Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta a few years later made living in nature a reality. This shift changed how I saw the world, turning nature from a backdrop into an integral part of everyday life.
Around the same time, I realized many people worldwide didn’t have access to nature. Fueled by a desire to share this experience, I started my journey into photography. Turning the beauty of nature into images and sharing them with others became more than just a dream—it became a professional pursuit.

In the past 40 years, I’ve had the privilege of exploring the landscapes of western Canada. However, Alberta, with its captivating foothills and majestic Rocky Mountains, remains my favorite. It holds a special place in my heart, a constant source of inspiration for my photography.
