Lethbridge High Level Bridge – A Timeless Subject for Photography
Lethbridge Bridge & Train. The Lethbridge High Level Bridge has always been one of my favorite subjects to photograph. This fall it was high on my list of must-shoot locations.
On a recent morning, I headed down to the river bottom with hopes of capturing the bridge in the soft autumn light. I did not expect a train to be crossing the bridge. But as luck would have it, a short train came rolling west just as I arrived. What followed was a sprint to get into position before the train cleared the bridge. Moments like this are what make photographing the High Level Bridge such an adventure.
What I love most about the bridge is that no two views are ever the same. Between the seasons, the weather, and the time of day, there are countless perspectives still waiting to be captured. I have a long list of images I plan to create this fall and winter, not only to expand my collection but also to challenge myself as a photographer. Having such an iconic landmark right here in Lethbridge—standing tall in every season—makes it the perfect subject.
