I wanted to get up to Red Rock Canyon as it finally opened to vehicles for the first time since the fires of 2017. So on the day it opened I was off to explore.
I can truly say it is as amazing as ever it just looks different since the fire. Things are really growing and lots of animals. I was fortunate as there where not a lot of people that were up there. You could tell that many were waiting for it to open and some had no idea what it was suppose to look like. After about an hour I had enough of the people and had to go someplace that people never stop. So I went down the road a few kilometers and found a secluded spot to pull off and have lunch. Yes most of the larger trees are gone but there is so much else to see and experience!!!!
If your going…
If you do go make sure that you are prepared. Go in the off days like during the week and try to get there early in the morning or late at night. Also please take your garbage with you. The high number of people does have an impact on the area and if you can take your garbage home it helps parks to keep it clean.
