Lethbridge Frosty Veil, an amazing collection of frost and fog photos. In Southern Alberta, fog is a rare phenomenon, making the combination of fog and hoar frost a captivating spectacle. On this day, as I drove into Lethbridge through thick fog with my camera by my side, nature unveiled a breathtaking scene. The closer I approached Lethbridge, the fog began to lift even more, revealing trees adorned with a thick layer of hoar frost.
Lethbridge Research Station
Passing by the Lethbridge research station, I was captivated by the magnificent giant Cottonwoods covered in hoar frost. Add to this the frost-kissed ground beneath those amazing trees. Making a spontaneous U-turn, I headed back to a spot that I knew would be perfect for capturing the enchanting moment. The main access road off Highway 3 leading to the research station provided an ideal setting. With the old paved roadway showcasing intricate details and the dark cottonwood trees crowned with hoar frost.
The fog lingered, adding an ethereal touch to the scene. Despite not completely lifting, it created a perfect backdrop. Allowing the trees to stand out with remarkable detail while the background seamlessly blended into the frost and fog. All this creating an almost perfect white canvas as the trees disappeared from view in the background.
I experimented with different angles. Capturing a series of both vertical and horizontal shots. Although undecided on my favorite, it seems that the vertical composition resonates most with viewers. It has become the most purchased image of the two but not by much. Regardless, both images exude an incredible charm when framed and displayed.
Parkside Dive, Lethbridge
Eager to continue capturing the morning, I ventured to Parkside Drive. The trees lining the roadway were also adorned with frost. The road leading away from the camera had a delicate dusting of frost, resembling a light snowfall. Once again, the lifting fog provided a detailed foreground, with trees in the background merging into the sky, creating a perfect whiteness.
Lethbridge Frosty Veil – A vist to Henderson Lake
Then to finish off my photo shoot I decided to explore Henderson Lake. There, I focused on photographing the bridge. Where frost, trees, and fog harmoniously blended. The bridge and trees stood out against the white backdrop, adding depth and detail to the image.
Fine Art photographs – Lethbridge Frosty Veil
These captivating moments are now available as prints on fine art metallic photo paper. Each image is coated with a fine leather texture laminate. This provides a canvas-like texture, protection from scratches, and UV protection. These images are not just photos; they are works of art that would enhance any photo collection, adding a touch of enchantment to homes or offices.
