Fall Harvest Photography – Capturing the Beauty of the Season
Life is full of contradictions. Kids can’t wait to grow up so they can do more things—then, as adults, they miss the days when life was simple. The same goes for the woman who couldn’t wait to get married but later misses her independence.
For photographers, it’s no different. We’re always looking forward to the next season, the next shift in light, color, and mood. For me, fall is one of the best seasons of all.
There’s something special about harvest time—the golden fields, the rich textures, and the soft, low light that makes everything glow. But it’s also bittersweet, because as soon as the last crop is in, winter arrives here in Southern Alberta. The colors fade, the winds pick up, and the landscape turns to shades of brown and gray.
Still, every year, I can’t wait for fall to arrive. The harvest brings some of the most breathtaking scenes of the year. The light hangs lower in the sky, sunrises and sunsets last longer, and the colors are simply more dramatic.
