Red Rock Canyon, Lost Horse & Pass Creek

Driving up to Red Rock is one thing, stopping to explore is another. There are so many places to stop on the way up that it can take an entire day to get up to Red Rock.

A stop heading to Red Rock Canyon
Lost Horse Creek

I have a few favorite places to stop. Some can be busy but if you go a few feet from the road you will seldom see another person. Each place also has its own features that makes it unique.

On the way to Red Rock the scenery is amazing

One of my favorite stops is Lost Horse Creek. It is a mini Red Rock Canyon without the people. Hundreds of people stop there everyday but few get out of their cars. It it is sheltered and very quiet.

Red Rock Canyon – After the fire

Please subscribe to my Youtube channel and like this video!

I wanted to get up to Red Rock Canyon as it finally opened to vehicles for the first time since the fires of 2017. So on the day it opened I was off to explore.

I can truly say it is as amazing as ever it just looks different since the fire. Things are really growing and lots of animals. I was fortunate as there where not a lot of people that were up there. You could tell that many were waiting for it to open and some had no idea what it was suppose to look like. After about an hour I had enough of the people and had to go someplace that people never stop. So I went down the road a few kilometers and found a secluded spot to pull off and have lunch. Yes most of the larger trees are gone but there is so much else to see and experience!!!!

If your going…

Road trip to Police Lake and Waterton

White Turtle IV, fun to drive on road trips

I needed to get out on a road trip so I decided to head on a road trip to Police Lake then to Waterton. My plan was to do some kayaking but mainly it was just to get out of town for a while. I am starting to need some wilderness time.

A road trip is not complete in the spring or summer without seeing some Mountain Bluebirds.

It always seems to be windy down there but this day it wasn’t bad. I got to see a lot of scenery and stop in and visit some friends. It was the first trip for the White Turtle IV and gave me a chance to figure out where all my gear was to go. I have to stay organized when i am out so I can find things when I need them and with a new vehicle I have to find all the storage spots to keep me organized.

The day turned out a lot better then I thought it would. Lots to see and take pictures of and a nice drive.

I think I found spots for most of my gear as well.

Fall Wasp

Photographing bugs in general is a challenge, when it is a wasp it is even more challenging as they tend to get a little upset. I think the world of insects is so cool. There is so much detail and fun things to find out when taking pictures of them. I did not know that … Read more
